The timeless bond between men’s watches and luxury cars

What is a luxury men’s watch?  Some would argue it is “A sports car for the wrist.” The watch movement, is, after all, akin to a car’s engine; the watch case to a chassis.  Meanwhile, both luxury cars and luxury watches are judged not solely on design but also on performance.  What’s more, the fact that even the most basic automatic watches on the market have see-through case backs is down to the same reason Ferrari’s V8s and Lamorghini’s V10s are proudly visible just behind the cockpit.
The watch industry has long recognised the link between performance cars and mechanical watches and has tried to capitalise on it in some form or another. This continues today throughout both industries.
